Hey, Massachusetts. It's time to show our country we can work together.

My name is Morgan Dawicki, and I am a proud Fairhaven resident running as an Independent for U.S. Senate. I am a Captain, Teacher, Executive, and proud son of two parents who built the nation’s first private maritime college. They did it like many others in pursuit of the American Dream: unwavering spirit, perseverance, and grit. They taught me that to “Honor the Mariner” means to honor all working people who keep our communities and our economy afloat, all too often without recognition.

My family has inspired me to run so that I can give back to an even bigger population: We the People. I am 29 years old, and it is time for a new generation to step up. We can do this. I am here to listen more than lecture, and unite more than divide.

We need a return to decency, respect, and common sense politics. Today, we are challenged by our inability to work together and a lack of political choices. It’s time to break free from the gridlock and embrace what unites us: our common humanity, our dreams for our children, our love for this amazing country. Whether you are an Independent, Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, or otherwise–my hope is to inspire you, to work with you, and to establish a new collective vision for the American Dream.

Let us create a “Movement for a New Washington.” Let us be inspired. Let us have hope. Let us pursue big things together.

It starts by electing independent voices like mine in 2026. Let’s throw off our party hats, embrace our independence, and show America how to lead with grace, dignity, and respect for one another.

THIS I BELIEVE.

People are good.

“I believe in my heart that Americans can find a lot more in common than we can in our differences. I also believe that people are inherently good people. Performative party politics has distracted us from building a prosperous future for all Americans. I am running as an Independent to show that we can come together around common sense issues like affordability, health care access, government reform, education, and an economy that helps hard working Americans achieve the American Dream.”

I AM A FIRM BELIEVER IN THE IDEA OF A FAIR DEAL FOR EVERYONE.

President Theodore Roosevelt based his domestic policy platform on the concept of a Square Deal.
We must act upon the motto of all for each and each for all,” he said.

A FAIR DEAL DOCTRINE MEANS GOVERNMENT FOR EVERYONE, NOT THE FEW.

A thriving economy begins with access to education for all—from early childhood through college, apprenticeships, and skilled trades. I support bold investments in affordable education and workforce development, so every American, no matter their zip code, has the opportunity to grow, earn, and contribute meaningfully to the economy. Learning shouldn’t be a luxury, and student debt shouldn’t be a life sentence. Upward mobility with economic results must be paramount to every American’s future.

To stay competitive in a rapidly changing world, the U.S. must recommit to science, research, and technological advancement. Today, 9 of the 10 leading research institutions in the world are based in China, a clear warning that we are falling behind in the race for innovation. I will champion federal investment in American research and development, particularly in clean energy, AI, cybersecurity, and life sciences, to ensure we lead, not follow. Higher Education models must be reformed with a clear sense of urgency to relieve American students of the sinister debt burdens we have given them.

Innovation must be rooted in inclusion. That means expanding STEM access in underserved communities, building public-private partnerships, and ensuring our brightest ideas come from every corner of the country. When we connect education to opportunity, and innovation to values, we build an economy that works for all of us.

Every American deserves access to quality, affordable healthcare. It’s time to build a pathway to universal healthcare, not by expanding red tape, but by encouraging innovation, smart competition, and transparency to lower costs and improve outcomes. Our healthcare system should serve people, not profits, and no one should be forced into bankruptcy just to stay alive.

Good health begins long before someone sees a doctor. That’s why I’m committed to addressing poverty and chronic illness at the community level, by promoting access to affordable, nutritious food and walkable, connected neighborhoods. We can create “Blue Zones” – regions known for longer, healthier lives right here in America by investing in the basics: better food, clean water, active living infrastructure, community connection, and economic dignity. And we must ensure that we are instilling a clean, healthy lifestyle with our youth so that America becomes healthier over time.

And as we care for our people, we must also care for the land that sustains us. I will work to uphold and strengthen America’s commitment to public lands, environmental resilience, and climate-conscious policy. Preserving our parks, coastlines, and forests isn’t just an ecological responsibility, it’s an investment in public health, recreation, and generational well-being. Stewardship, like health, is a legacy we must be proud to leave behind.

Democracy only works when people believe the system works for them, not just for the powerful or well-connected. The fact that most citizens can’t get an appointment with their Senator without paying a lobbyist is an absolute threat to democracy. To restore civic trust, we must pass campaign finance laws that ensure every voter has an equal voice, not just those with the deepest pockets.

We also need to eliminate insider trading in Congress—full stop. No elected official should be allowed to personally profit from the legislation they influence or the confidential information they access. It’s a basic matter of ethics and accountability, and it’s long overdue.

These reforms are about more than rules, they’re about rebuilding trust in the institutions that serve us. When we reduce conflicts of interest and level the playing field, we bring government closer to the people and democracy gets stronger for everyone.

America’s national debt has surpassed $37 trillion and growing. This is not just a number; it’s a threat to our economic stability, national security, and mine and future generations—it is flat irresponsible. To tackle this crisis, we must adopt a principled and practical approach that balances fairness with discipline. That starts with ensuring everyone pays their fair share in taxes, especially large corporations and the ultra-wealthy who currently benefit from an unequal system of loopholes and avoidance.

Second, Congress must commit to keeping the federal deficit below 3% of GDP, a widely accepted benchmark for fiscal sustainability. This creates a responsible framework to reduce long-term debt without stalling growth. Third, we must pursue modest but consistent budget reductions, encouraging departments to cut 1–2% on average from their budgets annually over the next five years, similar to what was done in the 1990s to achieve a government surplus. These targeted reductions can be achieved through efficiency reforms, redundancy elimination, and smart prioritization–not by slashing and burning essential services.

Fiscal responsibility is not about austerity; it’s about protecting our future. If we fail to govern spending now, we will pass a burden of debt, inflation, and diminished opportunity to our children. It’s time for a New Washington that treats budgeting like every working family does: with discipline, accountability, and a long view of what matters most.

We must end unnecessary corporate tax loopholes and reform America’s outdated antitrust laws. Today’s monopolies, especially in Big Tech, are crushing small businesses and driving inequality. These giants use legal loopholes to avoid taxes, block competition, and hoard power while everyday Americans struggle to get ahead. And they use our consumer data to manipulate our daily choices—often against our knowledge.

History warns us of the danger. In the lead-up to the Great Depression, monopolistic control over key industries distorted markets, suppressed wages, and triggered reckless speculation. When the crash hit, it was fueled by the unchecked greed of powerful corporate interests—proof that monopolies don’t just hurt competition; they destabilize entire economies.

It’s time to level the playing field. We need stronger antitrust enforcement, fair taxation, and bold support for small businesses and startups. That’s how we restore real economic freedom—and why a New Washington must put people before conglomerates

Everyone in America should pay their fair share—no exceptions, no special treatment. Our tax system must reflect the basic truth that prosperity is a shared effort, and those who benefit the most from our economy should contribute proportionately to the public good. That’s not class warfare, it’s common sense.

To do that, we need to promote tax policies that are as flat and fair as possible, without loopholes that let billionaires and multinational corporations off the hook. Right now, working families often pay a higher effective tax rate than some of the wealthiest Americans, simply because the tax code is riddled with deductions and shelters that only the rich can access.

I support closing those loopholes, ensuring capital gains are taxed fairly. A more honest tax system will help us invest in the education, healthcare, infrastructure, research and development, and workforce development—all critical components to ensuring wealth creation for all Americans. When everyone contributes fairly, America thrives and we all do better.
